Obituary of Lyle Ralph Hurst
Lyle Ralph Hurst, born on July 7th, 1947, passed away on March 19, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Lyle was a kind and gentle soul who always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude towards life.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Hurst and Wilda Snodgrass. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Nancy Hurst; his siblings, Sue Choitz and Anita Lea Hurst; His children, Jennifer (Daniel) Champney; His grandchildren, Evan Champney and Stratton Champney; His nephew Micheal Van Ingen; His nieces Katrina Vant and Jessica Gwinn; and his 6 great nieces and 3 great grand nieces.
Lyle proudly served his country in the US Army for three years. He then became an electrical engineer, and his passion for tinkering with electronics only grew stronger. Lyle enjoyed taking apart electronic devices, learning how they worked, and putting them back together again. Apart from his love for electronics, he had a few other passions in life that kept him going. He found solace in the peacefulness of fishing, the soothing rhythm of country music, and the art of writing. These activities allowed him to disconnect from the world and focus on the things that brought him joy.
Although Lyle is no longer with us, his memory will live on through his family and friends. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for fishing, writing, and electronics, and his positive outlook on life. Rest in peace, Lyle Hurst.
