Obituary of Betty Johnson

Betty Johnson crossed over to join her husband Glen on April 13, 2024 at the age of 82. The Graveside Service, conducted by Brother Danny Sellars, is 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Wilson County Memorial. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN, on Wednesday from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.

               Betty Lural Bowen Johnson was born in Lebanon TN to Addie Lee Hallums Bowen and Grace Bowen. Like many folks in the city of Lebanon, she worked at Lux/Robert Shaw Clock. She married Glen Johnson and together they established their home and raised three children. Betty enjoyed yardwork and gardening and preserving the fruits of her labor by canning and freezing. Shopping with her sister Linda was her favorite time away from the homeplace.

               Mrs. Johnson is survived by her children: Jeff (Renda) Johnson and Jenny (Bob) West; grandchildren: Derrick (Ashley) Johnson and Kayla (James) Richardson; many beloved great-grandchildren; sister: Linda (Howard) Hopkins. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Glen Johnson, daughter Cathy Jo Beadle, parents Addie and Grace Bowen, brothers Chuck Westmoreland, Ralph Bowen, Billy Jo Bowen, and David Bowen, and sister Virginia Harvey.
