Obituary of Billy Burroughs

Billy Burroughs, age 83 of Bethpage, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024.  Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 2nd at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin, with Bro. Tim Abshire officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday, May 1st from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., with a Masonic Service to end the visitation on Wednesday, and visitation will resume on Thursday, May 2nd from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.  Entombment, with Military Honors, will be at Crestview Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with Anthony Scalera, Ben Scalera, Chris Scalera, Chris Schmittou, Adam Harris, and Kevin Sadler serving as pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethpage Masonic Lodge #521, 602 Old Hwy 31-E, Bethpage, TN  37022.

Mr. Burroughs was born March 26, 1941 in Castalian Springs to the late Willie Howard Burroughs and Ethel Huff Burroughs.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Betty Carter Burroughs; son, Alan Burroughs; brother, Robert Burroughs; and sisters, Sarah Farley, Willie Ethel “Kay” Scalera, and Meda May Boyd.  He is survived by daughters, Ann Lauderdale (Mickey) of Bethpage and Amanda Jensen (Mike) of Portland; and grandchildren, Jessica Sims (Rick), Dalton Jensen, and Ronin Jensen.  Mr. Burroughs served our country in the United States Army.  He was a deacon at Grace Baptist Church.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
