Obituary of Ann Lewis Thompson Thurman

Ann Lewis Thompson Thurman of Hartsville Tennessee, passed away at her residence on May 4, 2024 at the age of 64. She was a 1977 graduate of Trousdale County High School, and in 1982, she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. While at UT, she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. During her 42 year career as a nurse, she worked in hospital settings in Hartsville and Gallatin. She was Director of Nursing at Trousdale Medical Center, was the coordinator of the Allied Health Programs at Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Hartsville, and most recently, was a Nurse Surveyor for the Tennessee Health Commission in the Middle Tennessee area. Ann is survived by her husband of almost 42 years, Robert Bratton Thurman and four children, Seth Harper Thurman of Hartsville, TN,  Joshua Lee Vantrease (Kaitlin) of Westmoreland, TN, Brennan Thompson Thurman (Heather) of Franklin, KY, and Maryanna Katherine Thurman of Old Hickory, TN. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kayde Thurman, Lainey Vantrease, Mariah Chandler, and Kaleb and Luke Dinkens, great grandchild Eli Baker, and sister-in-law, Sarah Thurman Butler.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Robert Thompson and Mary Pruitt Thompson.
 

Funeral services for Ann will be at 3 PM Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the First Baptist Church, Hartsville conducted by Bro. Darryl Turner. Visitation with the family will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, May 10, 2024 at Anthony Funeral Home and 1 PM until Service time Saturday at First Baptist Church Hartsville.

 

Active pallbearers will be Jack, J. Brim, Jonathan, and Joseph McCall, Bob Bradshaw, and Stanley Marshall.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Bonnye Beeler, Nancy Browning, Miriam Carmargo, Michelle Cartwright, Tracy Chavannes, Shelia Gregory, Kathy McCall, Lorraine Neligan, Jayne Scarlett, Penny Sutherland, and Lesa Williams.

 

Interment will be at the Hartsville Memorial Gardens directly following the service.
