Obituary of Frankie Hendrixson

Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, June 13, 2013, 7:30 p.m. at College Hills Church of Christ in Lebanon with Pastors Dr. Larry Locke and Dr. Bruce Grubbs officiating. Her remains were donated for medical research to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a graveside service to be held at a later date. Mrs. Hendrixson, 93, of Lebanon and formally Donelson, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2013 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born June 26, 1919 in Burkesville KY, the daughter of the late Sally Cross and Ed Melton of Lebanon. She was a devoted nurse of 59 years licensed in both Tennessee and Florida, having worked at Nashville General, Baptist Hospital, Miller Clinic, Donelson Hospital and Donelson Life Care. She was a member of College Hills Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Hendrixson; brother, Lester Melton; sisters, Olene Newman, Maggie Rogers, Zelma Shipper, and Avel Tomlinson; granddaughter, Rhonda Burkett; grandson Brian Wooden; and great-grandson Ben Burkett. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Davis and Lola (David) Mann; two sons, Jimmy (Brenda) Wooden and Mike (Belinda) Wooden; sister, Sue Vaughn; grandchildren, Lisa (Donald) Gann, Mark Burkett, Vim Burkett, Suzanne (Doug) Minert, Candace Simmons, Bill (Lisa) Wooden, and Angie Wooden; great-grandchildren, Alex and Abby Gann; Tell (Angela) Burkett; Andrew, Wade, Tyler, and Josh Minert; Emma and Liam Wooden; Elijah Simmons and Taylor Brown; devoted nieces Jean (Al) Solice and Mattie (Oscar) Rubio.
