Obituary of Bobby Allen Strawbridge
Bobby Allen Strawbridge, age 69, passed away Oct. 29, 2011 at his High Point Ranch, Brush Creek, TN. He was born June 26, 1942 in Baldwyn, MS. son of the late U. L. "Bill" Strawbridge and Alene Strawbridge Russell. He moved to Groveland, Fla. in 1959 where he met and married his wife, Karen on Aug 6, 1962. They were high school Sweethearts. He was a 1961 graduate of Groveland High School, Groveland, FL. He is retired from the State of Fla., Division of Fruit and Vegetable Inspection where he worked 37 years. He is a member of the Bay Lake Baptist Church in Groveland, Fla.
He was a member of the Fla. FFA Alumni Assoc., Fla. Cattlemen's Assoc., Lake Co. Fla. Cattlemen's Assoc., North American Limousin Foundation, Fla. Limousin Assoc., Tennessee Limousin Breeders Assoc., Smith Co. TN. Cattleman's Assoc., Southeastern Pinzgauer Assoc. He was also a Coach for the Groveland Little League for 14 years. He raised Limousin cattle and runs a horse/dog rescue at their High Point Ranch, Brush Creek, TN. He was an avid gardener, fisherman, model car collector and a BIG GATOR FAN. He loved all his horses, especially loved his Mustangs Magic and Casper, dam and son, and adopted 5 BLM Mustangs. Above all else he was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend�?��?�.
Predeceased by his parents and by brothers Billy Wayne Strawbridge and Roger Dale Strawbridge and sister Pamela Strawbridge Hamblin.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Karen Bolin Strawbridge; mother: Audry Williams Strawbridge, Pontotoc, MS; sons: William (Bill) Strawbridge, Brush Creek, TN, Patrick Strawbridge, Lebanon, TN, Christopher Hood, Brush Creek, TN. and Wes Hayton, Lebanon, TN; daughters: Susan Allan, Lebanon, TN, Robin Strawbridge, Brush Creek, TN, and Renda (Richard) Howell, Clermont, FL; sisters: Betty Sue (Tom) Felkins, Leesburg, FL, Peggy Joyce (Ron) Wilson, Charlotte, NC, Ann (Noel) Grant, Pontotoc, MS, Nancy (Keith) Self, Pontotoc, MS; brother: Gene McBroom, Bradenton, FL; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, his 21 horses, 1 mule and 1 burro, 13 dogs, plus many sons, daughters and grandchildren of the heart.
