Obituary of Margaret Thurley

THURLEY, Margaret, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at age 82 at University Medical Center. She was born in Dundee, Scotland. She was an accomplished seamstress having served an apprenticeship as a tailoress. She spent 4 years in the British army where she met her husband, Douglas. She came to America in 1957 and became involved in sewing and embroidery guilds. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Douglas Thurley; daughters, Sheila (Carl) Schmaedig and Diane (Ed) Roddey; son, Rod (Dawn) Thurley; grandchildren, Jennifer, Hunter, and Hannah Thurley and Joshua Crosslin; great-grandchildren, Trenton, Isley and Ronan Cross; sister, Anna Smith; and brother, James (Moyra) Smith. Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 4th at 11 am at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon. Visitation will be Friday, December 3rd from 6-8pm and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, December 4th. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
