Don Wayne, Freddie, and Uncle Leon -- just want you to know how sorry I was to hear of Aunt Telia's death. "Aunt Telia" was a very special person --and a special aunt -- always full of joy. I will always remember her laughter. I know from experience how it is to take care of your sick parent and how hard it is to let them go. But I also thanked God for the opportunity to be able to do that for my parents, especially Daddy, who lived with Thomas and I for 3 years, until we couldn't take care of him at home any longer. I thank God Aunt Telia was a Christian and that she lived a long, full, happy life. I also thank God that she had the three of you to take care of her during her years with Alzheimers. I know how hard that disease is on the caregivers. Just know I'll be praying for you all. I may not get to come to visitation -- I'm having some outpatient tests tomorrow, so if I don't get to see you, I hope you will understand. Thomas and I are sending a gift in Aunt Telia's memory to the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home. Beverly

She was the best mother I had. I loved her since I was 7 years old. She had so much joy, patience, love and wisdom. She was always available whenever she was needed by anyone she knew. I remember whenever anyone from her Sunday School (always referred to by her as "Our Dorcas Class") could not be at church for Sunday School. Telia would go to them and teach the lesson so they could still get perfect attendance. She taught in homes and in the hospital. When we were small, she taught our Sunday School class and as we aged, she went right along with us. She was one of the best teachers I ever sat under and that includes college professors. She could bring life to any subject she taught on and make it important and understandable. She led worship at Cedar Grove Baptist Church for years and years and then for the WMU. I'm sure none of us will ever forget the sound of her voice praising the Savior she loved above everything else. I miss you Mama.
