Charlie was a life long friend of our family, I stopped by to see Charlie in October and so glad that I did. We shared stories, we laughed together and cried together. I have wonderful memories of times spent on Old Hickory Lake. Lynda I never met you, but know that he charished his family and the time he spent with them. Conni, Randy and Cheri there is no greater loss than that of a Father, please know my prayers are with you. Lacey and Wesley and all the other grandkids and great-grandkids, as long as you share your memories and your stories he will live on through you. Celebrate your part of him, keep his spirit alive, he was greatly loved and he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through these next few days. Debbie Merryman Spalding

Mrs. Linda I will forever be so grateful to you and Mr Charlie for taking such sweet care of mom and daddy. Even down to rolling the garbage can to and from the street. It was such a comfort when you guys would notice that the lights were not on in the right order or room. So Mr Charlie would call to check and make sure everyone was alright.. His kindness and care went way beyond just being their neighbor. We will miss our friend and neighbor. We will be praying for you and the family. Please call us anytime for anything. It will be our pleasure to return the many favors. Blessings,
Ida Law

Conni, Randy and Cheri I am deeply sorry to hear about the death of your Dad. I have so many memories of my childhood that include all of you and your Dad. Wonderful memories of days on Old Hickory Lake, hanging out at your house getting into some sort of trouble and memories of our Dads flying together. Conni, one memory that really stands out is when your Dad got us involved in the Hermitage Flyers Track Club, those were good times. I hope your memories comfort you now and in the days ahead. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your father. Much Love to your entire family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

You are all in our hearts as you say your final goodbye to Charlie.
Brian, we know how much you loved and respected this man. We so enjoyed all your funny stories you shared about your time with him. Our favorite has to be when all of you were together in Knoxville and you told Deb and Charlie they would have to share the extra bedroom. Deb's face is still red from that one. You have been left with wonderful memories of Charlie and for that, you are blessed. With all our love and deepest sympathy, Daney and Paey and Family
