I met Rev Mac at McKendree. He and my dad were table-mates in the dining hall. He was forever the cheerful one, always pleasant, never grumpy. He had days he did not feel well and the only way I knew was to ask if he was okay. My dad loved him. He was one person dad could talk to and carry on a conversation with. Sadly, dad cannot do that of late due to increasing dementia, but he looked for Mac and always talked with him no matter if it made sense of not. Mac never complained. If there was an activity off unit, dad wanted to sit near Mac. I think with dad's growing dementia, Mac was his anchor in this storm of his thoughts that are present now. My entire family has met and love Mac. He will be greatly missed. I miss him but know he is up in heaven, telling my mom that dad is soon to follow and having a conversation with Jesus and singing hymns. Is this not what we all strive for? Anne Marie, you are loved and we will continue to be here for you. Mac you will be forever missed.

Mac was more than my Minister, he was also my 'other dad.' I leanred so much about the many blessings of God and of Jesus Christ. I do have all my memories of the wonderful times we had and shared both in New York and when my husband and I came to visit he and Ann in Tenn. I will cherish the one time when, after I told him I was going to study to become a Minister, we shared the altar together when we visited, I knew then this is what God had entended for me. I learned so much from him, and even though he was as sick as he was he always would ask me how my schooling was going. My tribute is my ministry to God. I know now that God needed a great minister to come and help him. Pop, I love you, and I will cherish our wonderful times together for as long as I live. To Mimi, John, Larry, Marjorie, Wayne, and Lee, thank you for sharing him with all of us who truly loved him. And know that all of the ones he touched in their lives will be forever grateful. God Bless all of you. Love Rev. Carole Campbell Hamm

Mac was the Pastor of the First Congregational Church in Crossville, TN when I first met him. This was the first time I really got involved and interested in a Church. I enjoyed him as my Pastor and he was responsible for me continuing as a Church goer. As I look at the stained glass window in the Church and see the white dove in the glass I always think of him. I long ago named that dove "Mac," in his honor and memory and forever it shall be. I always enjoyed your Christmas Birthday parties at you home. I will always remember you Mac and I am thankful for you. God Bless.

My sincere sympathies and deepest condolences to Anne Marie, John, Margie, Larry, Leanne and Wayne on Mac's passing. Mac was such a special person to me...a man of God who truly walked the walk. He confirmed me, he married me and was there during some difficult periods in my life after the deaths of my father and grandfather. I adored him. To me, he was the epitome of what a pastor should be and was the gold standard to which I unfairly compared all who have come after him. I'm sure Mac is doing some good preaching in Heaven that will make them sit up and take notice!! My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. God Bless.

Oh my what sad news...My sincere sympathy to the entire family, but especially my friend Marge. How often I think of you and say a birthday prayer for you on Flag Day.
I have fond memories of Mr. McFarland especially going to MA. with the family, listening to him rehearse his sermon. I ALWAYS felt like family. He will be greatly missed.
God Bless the family and find comfort that he is with the Lord.
God Bless you all
