I only knew Wendy for a short time. I first met her at Ediths birthday lunch. Uncle Kenneth and she were just finishing their lunch and were asking about the strawberry pies. We spent time together at Thanksgiving. We were both in the kitchen cooking and sharing with each other concerns with each other. Doug and I were amazed with her ability to take apart a turkey so quick! Without her I do not think Thanksgiving dinner would not have gone so well!! (we should have known she was a great cook as she used to own a restaurant) I am just glad that I had the opportunity to get to know her on a family (friend level). She did share with me how much she loved her daughter!! and even though I have not met her yet, I think that is important for her to know this!!

In High School, Wendy was the only female I knew that loved her muscle cars and actually knew how to work on them. We had talked several times after graduation, had a great time at our 20th class reunion (need to find the pictures of us hanging on each other laughing so hard), and spoke a few times afterwards. Her daughter was her pride and joy, which is why she named her restuarant "Emma's". I started searching again for her before and after our 30th reunion. I'm extremely sad that I couldn't find her until now. She was a pleasure to be around. May God give her family peace through this trial in your lives.

My prayers are with you during this time of need. Wendy was a dear friend in high school and the memory I have of her was her sweet smile and being able to make everyone laugh and fell like they were special.

Wendy was a dear friend to me in high school, I never saw her when she didn't have a smile on her face, and when I say never, I mean never saw her when she wasn't smiling. Wonderful lady and friend that will be missed.

I knew Wendy through school and her family. Her sister Tonie and I were very close friends for many years. Wendy loved her family and she and I became better friends when she opened her restaurant "Emmy's". My husband and I always loved eating there. Wendy would always make time to sit and talk and ask how everyone was doing. She was such a caring and sincere person. I had not seen her in many years but I am sure she was still the same caring and down to earth person I had known. It is such a terrible loss for her family and friends. My prayers are with all of them.
God Bless You,
Teresa

Wendy was very kind to my dad (Walter Lackey) and shared many funny fishing stories with me during his visitation in March. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I cannot say that I know, just how you feel
For your hurt is so great, and will take God's touch to heal Yet is it possible for such a wound, to completely ever mend
When you've lost your mate, parent, child or good friend Please know that I pray for you, each and every day
And feel God's Holy Spirit, in small and simple ways And then I am reminded, of such a simple phrase
With all the strength that's in you, please walk by faith So come to me and talk about, anything you feel
For I'll be here in body, but Christ will soon reveal That while it is impossible, for a friend to end your pain
HE will bring about a peace, and in your hurt sustain

"Now the laborer's task is o'er;
now the battle day is past;
now upon the farther shore
lands the voyager at last.
Father, in thy gracious keeping
leave we now thy servant sleeping"

I have known Wendy pretty much since I was born. She was always @ my Aunt Nellie's house . . . and I was always @ my Aunt Nellie's house! She was always kind to me! She always had a smile on her face! Me & Emmy were kinda like cousins when we were little! Wendy catered my sister's wedding back in May of 2011 & she did an AWESOME job! Everybody went on & on about how good the food was! She will be missed here on earth . . . be we will see her again one day in heaven! :)
