I haven't seen Penny often in the last few years. Usually when walking in Shelby Bottoms. We met when I worked for Park Center and she later hired me to work on the homeless team at the Mental Health Cooperative. I learned so much from her and truly admire her. She truly made the world a better place.

Penny and I were roomates our first year at Southwestern. She arrived from nearby, I came from Chicago. So sad to learn of her passing, yet, reading about her life's work is comforting and a fulfilled reflection of the gentle soul she was.
