I first met Tim at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus, Ohio. He was my restaurant sous chef I was a young wanna be chef. We quickly became friends and stayed in touch after he left to go to the Grand Hyatt in N. Y. I went off to Culinary School a few years later and when it was time for my externship I spent 4 months in Nashville working with Tim at the Raddison Plaza Hotel. The highlight of this time was the 7+ foot tall Statue of Liberty tallow sculpture that we worked together to create for the fourth of July celebration. Unfortunately after I graduated from CIA and began my own Chef career we fell out of touch. Now that I am retired I wanted to rekindle that friendship. But alas I am to late. I am sorry to hear of Tim's passing but he will always live on in my memory as a friend.

My Brother,
You became a member of our family 28 years ago when you married my big sister Jodi. I am grateful and thankful for all the kindness and love you have shown our family over all these years. Most of all I loved the way you LOVED my sister. Whenever you would speak of Jodi there was a glow in your eyes, a smile on your face. You were a wonderful father to her children and to your daughter Summer.
I am thankful for our last conversation in Jamestown, when we spoke of Heaven. I know Tim you are with our Heavenly Father and the rest of our loved ones. One day Brother we will be reunited again. Until that day...I love you and will miss you.

Tim you were a great man. A great friend. So generous, so loving. Tim you taught me a lot, taught me the "The Hippie Code" One time I tried to give you money for gas and you told me I cant take that, that would make it a transaction, like business. Were friends, the Hippie code. and to me what he meant went a lot deeper. Be good to everyone, love everyone! On our everyday drives to work we shared so many memories of families, to growing up as kids, to life lessons. To my good friend and teacher. Today I will put on some Beatles music and raise a glass and feel privileged that i got to call you my friend. I love you and will always be missing ya! I know your at peace in that great big VW bus in the sky!

Tim always said that those of us who do the work of chefs are a "Great Circle"--we pick it up from one another and we pass it on to the next generation. I was one of the lucky ones that Tim chose to bring into the circle. And thanks to him, I've tried to do the same over the years for others, as have so many others that Tim mentored. May the circle be unbroken, my friend. I loved you and will miss you greatly.
