Obituary of James Blair

The Fishing Legend, James "Poppy" Blair, Sr., of Mt. Juliet passed away May 6, 2012 at age 70. Funeral services for Mr. Blair will be held Wednesday, May 9th at 2 pm at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. Jim Rowlett and Mr. John Murphy officiating. Interment will follow the service at Hollis Wright Cemetery in Mt. Juliet with Jeremy Hurd, Thomas Osborne, Brandon Faircloth, Luke Jordan, Troy Rodgers and Ritchie Horton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are: Nolan Durham, Mike Neely, Danny Hankins, Robbie Madewell and Don Brown. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, May 8th from 12-8 pm and Wednesday, May 9th from 10 am-2 pm. Mr. Blair was preceded in death by parents, Calvin Eugene and Mary Lucille Blair; brothers, Robert Blair and Herman Blair; and grandson, D. J. Blair. He is survived by wife, Ann Blair; sons, James (Jenny) Blair, Jr. and Dayton E. (Robin) Blair, Sr.; daughter, Margaret Blair Potter (Mike Neeley); grandchildren, Ashley Brewington, Dayton Blair, Jr., Jessica Blair, James Blair, III, Daisy Blair, Delaney Blair and Deacon Blair; great-granddaughter, Layla Journeay; and several nieces and nephews.
