Obituary of James Hogun
HOGUN, Rev. James "Jim", age 87 of Murfreesboro passed away May 8, 2013. Rev. Hogun was in the ministry for over 60 years and was the only Protestant minister to speak at the Monks' Monastery in Carmel Valley. He was a member of the Ministerial Alliance Association. He was a Master Gardener and enjoyed fishing. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 14th at 1pm at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. Steve Williams officiating. Interment will follow the service at Roselawn Cemetery, Murfreesboro with Phillip Morrow, Daniel Miller, Paul McFarland, Tom Manners, Jason Rowsell and Justin Wyatt serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Monday, May 13th from 4-8 pm and Tuesday, May 14th from 11am until time of service. Rev. Hogun was preceded in death by parents, James and Synthia Hogun; and son, Michael Earl Hogun. He is survived by wife of 61 years, Barbara "B. J." Hogun; daughter, Cathie Cantrell (Thomas) Manners; grandchildren, Stephanie (Daniel) Miller and Michael Cantrell; great-grandchildren, Nicole Miller, Kaleigh Miller, and Mackenzie Grace Cantrell; 1 brother; 3 sisters; foster son, Chris Rutledge; numerous foster children; and several nieces and nephews.
