Brenda was such an inspiration to me. She gave me a little pusher too to go back to school. I will do great and when I graduate I will look up to heaven and fuzz her out because I wanted to become a part of her team. She always has been so good to work with, when you don't understand something she calmly explained. She is greatly missed in my life. When I grow up I want to be like Brenda in the work field. Terrel, she was so proud of you, showed off the stuff you send her, even your pictures from your Tour of Duty. You had an awesome Mom.
Want to come to the services, however I will be in school tomorrow and than out of Town.

My Sweet Brenda, Reading through everyone's messages it confirms what I have always known in my heart from the first day I met you--that you touch people's lives in the most positive, resonating way and your gift of love just goes on and on. We didn't know each other that long and what I will miss most is all the memories we hadn't yet made together. But, I will cherish the ones we did have and let them be a reminder to never take the important things in life for granted. I love you my sweet friend. May your Beautiful Soul Rest in Peace. Terrell and Family, My heart breaks for you guys. Terrell, your mom was so proud of you. There wasn't a single time that we spoke that she didn't say so or comment on how much she loved you. My family is always here for yours.

I took me a little while before I could write anything Terrell, but once I decided to leave a message, the fun times, the smiles, the jokes, the hospitality and the caring thoughts started to come to mind about your
mother. She was the kind of person that reminded you of the values people
can have. No doubt these will show up in you. So sorry for you and the family.

Brenda, I will never forget all the fun times we had during the time you worked with me at the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. You could always put a smile on my face and in my heart. I enjoyed our talks and all of our shared emails. I loved hearing about all of Terrell's adventures in Cuba and I know how very proud you were of him because your voice lit up every time you spoke his name. I will always cherish the memories I have of all our trips we took to work conferences and all the fun we had in Austin, Texas and San Diego, California. I will miss you every single day until we are reunited in Heaven. Sharon

What I admired most about Brenda was her desire to always be fair and do the right thing. She was sincere in that...wanting to be in compliance with policies and rules. My last conversation with her I commented on how great she looked and we both rejoiced because it seemed the adjustments she had recently made enhanced her health. So, when I learned of her death on Monday morning, I was devastated and still find it hard to believe she is asleep. God's promise is for those who believe, death is only a sleep and therefore, temporary. So we have this hope that at the return of Jesus, Brenda will hear His voice call her from the slumbering grave and we will be reunited with her if we are also found faithful. Let us therefore, comfort one another with this promise. 1Thessalonians 4: 15-18.

Terrell and the family, you had a jewel of a lady in Brenda, I was really fond of her. We worked to together here in TDEC for the las 9 months on a project for her division and she was so very helpful in assisting and getting the project to completion that we have just recently implemented. As we worked together, we got to know each other personally. Terrell, your mom was so proud of you! We talked about your military and diving experiences. You are close to the same age as my son, so we would chat about you two every now and then to get updates on how you were doing. I'd always compliment Brenda on her perfect eyebrow arches as I see now she's always had :-). There are many things we don't understand in life but, we just have to trust, believe and have faith that Brenda is in a great peaceful, wonderful place with her bright smile and the twinkle in her eyes. . Brenda will be truely missed around here. Please know that she left her mark and contributions in service to the State of TN, TN Dept. of Environment and Conservation. My prayers, thoughts, and condolences to the family and friends. R.I.Paradise Brenda

Once again, I am very sorry about your loss. Here is a Psalm that was read at my father's funeral back in '08 and that I want to share with you and your family. Psalm 23 A psalm of David. 1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,[a] I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Losing someone special
Is a terrible thing to bear.
It's the kind of shock for which
We simply never can prepare.
One moment we are smiling,
And the next is filled with tears.
And losing one we love does not
Get easier with years.
But please remember you have friends
To help and ease your way
Who share your loss and care for you
Far more than words can say. I only saw Brenda 2 times she was a very sweet person. She came when my husband passed away was the first time I met her. My daughter Monica works with her for a few years and Monica really liked her.I am so sorry for your loss

Terrell and Jane this has been so difficult for me I can't imagine your grief. I feel lost. Brenda has been my best friend for over 20 years through our good times and bad..we shared our worries and happiness. What I do know is how much she loved you both. She was so proud of you Terrell. She was radiant with happiness when you were home earlier this year. I loved her dearly and will always cherish my memories of her. She was so much more than a best friend she was a sister to me. If there's anything I can do for either of you...you just have to ask. God bless you both.

Brenda was a wonderful woman to work with and a very special friend. She was generous, loving, honest, a hard worker, and always maintained the highest standards in her work and life. We could laugh at the absurd and enjoy the ridiculous every time we got together. We were planning to visit Terrell in Cuba in June and she planned to take scuba lessons so she could explore the ocean with him, but I was going to snorkel. Terrell was the light of her life and she loved him unequivocally. Pride in him radiated out of every word she spoke about him. We had dinner together at Mcnamara's and she was happy with her life and her job. I will always remember her that way because that is exactly what she was like. I will miss you Brenda!!

I had the privilege of teaching Brenda's son, Terrell, and through this I got to know Brenda. She was always so supportive to me. Terrell, I want you to know (though I know your mother showed you through words and actions) that she loved you dearly. You meant the world to her; she always wanted the best for you; she had big dreams for you, young man. Dreams that you've already made a reality. I'll never forget she and I laughing about you LOVING the show Jag. Now look at you, Mr. Military Man. I know she is so proud of you.

To Terrell and the Weatherby Family, For the past 6 years Brenda has been my supervisor. However, I think of her more as a friend. Throughout the years, our conversations would begin with a focus on work but would always end with mention of family (our children). Terrell, you don't know me, but I feel that I know you. Your mother was a smart, wonderful, and beautiful person who was sooo proud of you! Even though we spoke mostly by telephone, I could see the sparkle in her beautiful eyes and the abundance of love in her heart when she spoke of you. I am deeply saddened and will miss her greatly. My heart and prayers goes out to you and all of your family. Please find comfort in your memories and in these bible verses: Psalm 30:5b “weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” (*KJV) Psalm 55:22 “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.” (NIV) 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (NIV)

Terrell, Your momma was a fighter, tough as nails! Out of all of her personal challenges whether it was health, job, family, she never quit fighting. We had many challenges in common and she inspired and informed me with some of the challenges we had in common. Regardless of what folks think, she was special to me. She kept me motivated into my purpose. I'm glad to see you are doing well serving our country. Brenda was proud of you and I am too. Terrell, you probably don't remember me, because you were very young, when I saw you during the wonderful get togethers your mother was famous for. I remember one time, when I visited in White House. You had built the Titanic (true to size) in a way that the body of the ship could break in two parts just like it happened in real life. Your Mom was so proud of you for having completed the project and you were just so eager to demonstrate the break up of the ship over and over again and you bathed in your mother's praise. If there was a constant in your mother's life, it was her love and support for you and I know for sure that she already has set claim on being your Guardian Angel from now on.
Terrell, Jane and Amber and family, no words can ease the loss you bear. Perhaps you will find some comfort in knowing others care. The world has lost a truly unique person. Brenda will live forever in my heart and in the memories we shared. I am so very sorry for your loss.

To Terrell and the rest of Brenda's family: I first met Brenda in Dec. 1999 when my position at work was moved to Brenda's newly created section. I found out quickly that the best part of that move was gaining Brenda as a good friend. I can't remember her ever having anything but that sparkle in those lovely eyes and a big smile on her face. She always projected such joy that you never could leave her presence without feeling better. It was such a shock to hear about her passing; I simply did not want to believe it. And I'm sure you all are still in that stage of shock and disbelief. Brenda loved you all so much, as she did her friends. Terrell, your Mom loved you so very much and was so very proud of you--that you can never doubt. We are all going to miss her.
