There's never been a finer man than Mr. Charlie he has given all of us a bunch of memories we will cherish forever, making someone laugh was his main goal in life and (hugs) sitting around campfires wrapped in blankets, coats and toboggans in summer time eating homemade ice cream. God has taken another angel home. You will be missed

The Charlie I loved and I guess I always will, as though a father of my own, never hesitated to reach out his hand, expecting nothing in return, but to accept his love. Within his endless stories, I don't really think I ever heard him speak a word of regret; he closed each day with pride and affection for his God, his children, and crediting always, his loving wife ahead of himself. He left behind only a few little unfinished projects of which we spoke frequently with a smile. Last month he had a grandson move a handful of birdhouses on posts to his front yard so that his optimism could live there as it should for us all……..in the front yard. I am so honored he accepted me as a friend without question. I pray I can someday be so generous. I miss you Sir,

There are those who come along whose light shines so bright that it cannot be hid nor forgotten. Charlie Tatum is one of them. His was the example of what it is to be a Christian gentleman. His love for his Lord, church, family, neighbors and friends is a legacy of God's grace in a long fruitful life. It will not be a surprise to hear our Savior say in that day, "well done good and faithful servant" (Matt 25:21). Our prayers to the family--may we rest in the "God of all comfort;Who comforteth us in all our tribulation."

I will never forget when Charlie and his family come to visit me while I was in Air Force Basic Training in Amarillo, Texas. I, like most trainees, was very homesick and that visit helped me to get through the remainder of Basic Training. Charlie's family and my family go back to probably the beginning of Immanuel Baptist Church when it was only a small concrete block building. My parents were also Charter members. Charlie will definitely be missed. Love and prayers for his entire family.

Uncle Charlie will always remain one of my favorite persons of my lifetime. This man just oozed love from every pore in his body. He would always extract a smile and laugh from anyone he came in contact with. I will be so happy to be reunited with him in heaven!

Mr. Charlie was always very nice and kind to us. When we first got married in 1978 we rented a camper from him to go on vacation. He knew we were young and had a shoestring budget, he gave us a lot of priceless advise. We rented a camper from him for several years, and my father in law purchased a couple of nice campers from Mr. Charlie kindness will never be forgotten.
God put's special people in our lives for a reason...Thank you Jesus.
