Obituary of Virginia Lea Hallums

Virginia Hallums, age 82, passed away on January 22, 2014. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home on Friday from 2-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Floyd Farris and Brother Bill Trice, is 1 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Sellars Funeral Home. Interment in Wilson County Memorial to follow the service. Pallbearers: Clayton Hallums, Jeff Hallums, Tom Hallums, Justin Turner, Jason Turner, and Jeffrey Turner. The family extends a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice. Memorial Donations: American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. Mrs. Hallums, a member of Highland Heights Church of Christ, is survived by children: Gayle (Mike) Oliver, Kim (Lynn) Marler, and Glenn (Tara) Hallums; siblings: Lucille (Doug) Hobbs, Ruth Ricketts, Margie (Billy) Trice, and Sue Barnes; and grandchildren: Travis (Christina) Oliver, Chad Oliver, Mary Lea Marler, and Lila Chapman; great-grandchild: Tristen Oliver. She is preceded in death by husband Kenneth Hallums, parents Austin and Patti Hackney Lea, sister Hester Howard, brothers David, Robert, Kenneth, and A.C. "Slick" Lea.
