Obituary of Donald Ray Rogers
Donald Ray Rogers, age 73, was born in Nashville and passed away on February 21, 2015 at his home in Lebanon TN. Donald's accomplishments in life were many. He graduated high school in Oklahoma at age 16, served in Germany as a PFC in U.S. Army, Deputy Sheriff and 911 Operator for Lawrence county TN, school bus driver, cattle farmer and security guard. His passions were family, animals and knowledge. Mr. Rogers was the son of the late Edward Lawrence Rogers and Virgie Eddie Rogers Hunt, and step-father Marshall W. Hunt. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Martha Grace Rogers, daughters LaVena Mae Dixon of TN and Cynthia Lynn Bayes of NY, grandsons Brian Joseph Kennedy and Shawn Patrick Kennedy, and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his family in Oklahoma, his most loving sister Glenda Rogers Worcester, niece Marsha Stevens Clevenger, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the chapel of Cedarcroft (202 South College St.) at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Donald would love any donations to be made to a local animal shelter in his memory.
