My condolences to Cathy and both of their families. I think about Steve often and and cry every time I do and I miss him terribly. I hear his voice and the sound of his laughter. Steve is one of the nicest guys I have ever known. It was just not fare for him to go so early. Keep your tankard full so we can toast now and again...and save a bout for me for when we meet the next time.

I only just learned of this memory book feature. I'll tell you some favorite memories of Steve - I met him at Renaissance Faire, where he went by the name of Talon. Steve was a mischeivous guy, always kind, funny, and so talented. He was a great drummer; when Faire would close down for the evening and the last customer was out the gate, we'd have a huge drum-and-dance fest with some drummers pounding away on huge metal trash cans, Talon included; even after a hot, exhausting day, he always had energy to spare and kept everyone going. The best times at Faire were after dark, when individual booths would have parties and put on wonderful shows. Steve once did an amazing drum performance, so soulful, at our annual event, uh, I guess I'll have to call it a Ladies Night (we ladies of the Cardiff Rose are greatly appreciative of the male physique, especially when it's showcased with taste, intelligence, and humor). Steve really enjoyed after-hours excursions. He and a group of friends created a ritual called "CaCA" which was, I think, an anagram for something -- but that was a secret I was never - uh - privy to. CaCa members would skulk around in the dark, wearing long cloaks, carrying probably a libation of some kind, and playing practical jokes, or climbing into tall oak trees to tease the passersby below. I only participated once in CaCa, on a full moon night, and remember sitting on a haybale laughing my head off with the nicest, funniest people imaginable. I have to say something important - I am SO VERY GLAD Steve found true love and a sweet, ready-made family. He clearly had a loving and tender soul. In his short time here on earth, it's so wonderful that his dreams came true.

My heart and prayers go out to Cathy and Steve's family. Steve you will be greatly missed. I feel like I have lost a brother. I met Steve and Cathy through Steve's divorce group back in 2001, with his and Cathy help, they guided me through divorce, cancer, and being a single mom. Steve made sure I knew someone cared and with his guiding hands, I made it through all my battles. I am speechless and someday I will see you in Heaven. God Bless your family, you will be missed, until we see you again. Love and Hugs to all.

My sad condolences to Cathy and both of their families - I have been at a loss for words for days. Sometimes life doesn't turn out the way we hope it will, and all we can do is savor the memories and trust that sometimes things happen for reasons we cannot understand.

I met Steve on my 21st birthday; some 21 years ago...he was the dear friend of my husband Brian. Over the years Steve became a good friend, brother of mine. We shared so many good occasions together ranging from birthdays, faire events, and he was a groomsman at Brian and I's wedding some 18 years ago. Steve was a good natured man, someone you could count on; he was a jokester and dearly loved. Some years back, I think 7 he moved to TN to follow his heart.....we all have missed him not being around, but we knew that he was so happy in his new life in TN with Cathy. She is and will always be Steve's love of his life!!! So over the years we chatted often on the phone and we saw him last summer. Even though he was miles away, he was Steve our friend and nothing would change that. When we heard a few weeks back that he needed surgery, we were very worried. To get that call last Thursday, well I was in shock, shaking. Why did God have to take our Steve? As I write this, Brian is in TN performing the memorial service for our dear, brother Stevehe will live on in our memories. We will love you forever!!!

I met Steve through Divorced Friends a Yahoo Group in 2003. He was very warm and welcoming. Although I never met Steve I was very happy when I heard that he and Cathy got married. All my memories of Steve are good ones from the group. When I got the news this morning it was a shock. After reading some of the posts on Facebook it shows how much he was loved by his friends and family. How much he loved and enjoyed his life and how happy he was in his life with Cathy. Cathy my heart goes out to you and to your family. Please take care of yourself and always keep Steve's memory alive.

My heart goes out to Steve's family. I will always remember him as gentlemanly, opinionated, loyal, funny, and caring. I will never forget seeing him fail to learn proper ladylike behavior at the Dickens Faire in his Sgt. Desmond persona. Much love and sympathy, Mary Ellin

I lost touch with Steve several years ago. There always seemed to be time enough to get back in touch. Now there's a void that can never be filled. I'm so sorry to hear that he's gone. My thoughts go out to all his friends and family -- he will be sorely missed.
