Great times in scouts- John and his family were always kind to me. There are 12 points of the Scout Law, I think John abided by them all. A Scout is Trustworthy.
A Scout tells the truth. He is honest, and he keeps his promises. People can depend on him. A Scout is Loyal.
A Scout is true to his family, friends, Scout leaders, school, and nation. A Scout is Helpful.
A Scout cares about other people. He willingly volunteers to help others without expecting payment or reward. A Scout is Friendly.
A Scout is a friend to all. He is a brother to other Scouts. He offers his friendship to people of all races and nations, and respects them even if their beliefs and customs are different from his own. A Scout is Courteous.
A Scout is polite to everyone regardless of age or position. He knows that using good manners makes it easier for people to get along. A Scout is Kind.
A Scout knows there is strength in being gentle. He treats others as he wants to be treated. A Scout is Obedient.
A Scout follows the rules of his family, school, and troop. He obeys the laws of his community and country. A Scout is Cheerful.
A Scout looks for the bright side of life. He cheerfully does tasks that come his way. He tries to make others happy. A Scout is Thrifty.
A Scout works to pay his own way and to help others. He saves for the future. He protects and conserves natural resources. He carefully uses time and property. A Scout is Brave.
A Scout can face danger although he is afraid. He has the courage to stand for what he thinks is right even if others laugh at him or threaten him. A Scout is Clean.
A Scout keeps his body and mind fit and clean. He chooses the company of those who live by high standards. He helps keep his home and community clean
.
A Scout is Reverent.
A Scout is reverent toward God. He is faithful in his religious duties. He respects the beliefs of others.
Bye, John --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I remember John from long ago when he first started in Real Estate. My first job at 18 years old was for Mr. John W. Martin, atty. and John, Jim and Mr. Teasley were in the same building - by McPherson Cleaners. He was always so friendly and upbeat. He was in and out of the office all day and would never fail to stop at my desk and chat for a moment before going into his office. I was so sadden to learn of John's death and am so very sure that he has created a huge loss in the family as well as in the Real Estate world. My prayers are with you all!

I am so sorry. I have such fond memories of so many happy times shared with John and all of our mutual friends in high school. I loved it when we all got together a few years ago, and John said to me, "Hey, I just realized something -- we were the 'nerds,' weren't we?!" I wish I were able to attend the service.

God Bless Michelle, the children and the entire family. John had such a big heart and was such a great friend. He always seem to have a smile on his face. I have known John for a number of years. I always kidded him about having his children late in life when I already had grandchildren. He thought that was so funny. I am so sad of John's passing. May God wrap his loving arms around the family and give them comfort.

Rarely does someone cross your life's path that leaves a legacy quite like John did. To those of us who knew him thru our school years, you know what I mean. Rarely was a story told that didn't include John in the middle of it. I mourn today, yet at the same time, thank our Heavenly Father for the times we had and sweet memories we made. So thankful that many of us had reconnected in recent years, keeping those smiles alive. Heaven is a better place today because John is there. We will miss you ... but will never forget.
