Carol and I met in Covington, TN when Bro. & Sis. Hudspeth came to pastor our AG church. My family lived next door to the church parsonage. Carol and I went to high school together and our first job out of school was at the same company in Memphis, Tn. I was only 17 and didn't have a driver's license but I was buying a car from my brother who was in the Army. Carol drove my car to meet up with the people that we rode to Memphis with. She let me drive home sometimes in the afternoons. We got stopped once and she sweet talked the cop into not giving us a ticket for my driving without a license and speeding. We used to rush to get in the car in the afternoons after work because the man that rode in the car pool would always try to sit between the two of us and then lean over on one of us on the way home. We thought he was a dirty old man so we tried to get in the car first and make sure he didn't get in the middle....we didn't always make it but we sure tried. Carol's family moved away and we lost touch for awhile but reconnected a few years ago...Randy, you and Carol married on the same day as Charlie and I and the only time I ever met you was on the Sunday after we all married and you and Carol came to church in Covington. Carol was a beautiful person inside and out and I loved her dearly and even though she will be greatly missed by many many people, I know she has now received her ultimate healing from that awful disease. Prayers are being sent up for comfort for all of the family.

Randy, Chad, Amy, & Kelly, My beautiful friend is finally in the very real presence of Jesus! I grieve with you all tonight, while I also rejoice at the glorious entrance into heaven that took place Sunday morning. Such a horrible disease, but my dear friend handled it with such amazing grace, dignity, and of course, humor. You have all been in our prayers since the day Carol was diagnosed. And in this moment, our prayers for you are constant. Randy, you're such a gifted comforter. We're praying you'll allow others to comfort you right now. Chad, Amy, & Kelly, your momma loved you so much! You are so blessed to have been her children! Your adult lives are evidence of the amazing person she was. We love you all and are lifting you before our Father right now. Love,
Roger & Yvonne Thomson

We have so many wonderful memories of our times in Randy & Carol's Sunday School class ... the way they would tease eachother ... always making us laugh ... Carol knew that a cheerful heart is good medicine :) That was so evident in her facebook postings ... her strength, her faith, & her humor through the storm made me realize just how amazing she really was... I know she is healthy & happy now & in the arms of Jesus! .. maybe even catching up with old friends & family... even giving my baby boy Jonah a big hug for me... Our thoughts & prayers will continue to be with Randy & the kids.. I know how much you will miss her .... but thanking God that we will all see her again... We love you. Holly, Wil, & Billie ShiAnne

To Carol's family, Some people come into your life for only a short time, but they never leave your heart. Carol and I were coworkers @ HealthSpring. I work from home, so I did not see her often, but would try and stop by and share a little conversation with her when I could. We shared our faith, and in later days her illness. Please know that I am prayig for all of you in this time of loss. She was a lovely and couragous woman and will be missed here on this earth.. but she is now celebrating!

I met Catol my freshman year at Central Bible College in Springfield Missouri, she and her roommate were on my hall we became fast friends. Her smile, darling southern accent and distinct dimples and of course her contageous laugh were just a few of her addicting attributes. I was so impressed with her strong will and belief in God while given an incredible journey. Her example to her children and friends will never be forgotten. I believe that Carol lived out James 1:2-4 knowing she is "complete and lacking in nothing" is our great hope. My prayers are continuing for Randy and the children and grandchildren and I know you joy in the Lord knowing He has Carol in His hands and she is no longer suffering.

It was my honor and privilege to be a friend of Carol's. She was a shining example of a Godly woman. Even though stricken with a horrible disease, she handled it with dignity and beauty. I was honored to have been a bridesmaid in her wedding 40 years ago. Her family has been friends with my family....as long as I can remember. Dewey, Sue, Niki, Deana, Randy, children and grandchildren, I am praying for you and love you all. Heaven is rejoicing at the arrival of an angel. She was one here on earth, too!

To all of Carol's family,
I was lucky to have Carol as a cousin. I remember the times we all came together at Grandmama's and Granddaddy's house and just squeezed into that small family room, and had so much love all around us. Whenever I think of Carol, I remember her smile, and her dimples and her laugh. I have you all in my thoughts and prayers and today I am so sad with you because I know you will miss her very much.
I wish I could be there in Tennessee with you. Please know how much you are on my mind today. My husband Mike, and our son John, send their love also.
Love always,
Jan (Manner) Terry

Bro and Sis Hudspeth I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Carol. You have my sympathy. I hope they discover a cure for ALS soon. I lost my only brother with this disease. Carol was always an inspiration to me. I remember her singing and taking part in services and well remember when she became engaged to Randy. When I lost my husband I had to say, "God you know best." And He does. Our time on this earth is spent as Pilgrims and Strangers. Our home is with God who made us. God bless you is my prayers
