I will always remember Uncle Jack's wonderful sense of humor. Plus all the family gatherings that has left me with many fond memories. Having that common bond of serving in the Navy and having chats about our adventures was fun. He will be deeply missed by his his family and friends, but know he is in God's hands. My prayers, thoughts and heart are with you Aunt Martha, Leora, David, Ria and all the grandchildren.

I remember Dad's sense of humor. He had a knack for embarrassing Mom by teasing and talking with total strangers when they were out and about. In a world where marriages are thrown away too easily, he never left. He was faithful to his wife and his family. Sure, he made mistakes in his relationships with his family, but who doesn't. Another favorite memory is him singing to my sister when she was a little one. He sang "You Are My Sunshine" - I can remember it clearly, and hear him sing. Dad always remembered to celebrate our birthdays with cake and ice cream, even way after we were grown. When we were kids, he is the one who would go out and last minute shop for Christmas presents. Over the past several years, he liked to tell stories about his time in the Navy, his time on Guam, and his buddies from his youth. They were an ornery bunch, for sure! I have memories of going to sleep on the sofa with the sound of a Sunday football game on the TV. Somehow, it felt secure to me. I will miss my Dad for now, but will see him again. Of that I am sure.
