I have know her about 20 years and will never forget her reaching out to me when I was grief stricken over the passing of a woman I called my "Nashville Mom". At that time I had no family in Nashville. She hugged me and told that she guested that she would just be my Nashville Mom now. I am truly blessed to have had her in my life. I had to write her one last letter. Dearest Doris, We will miss you so very much. You have been such a wonderful Mother and friend. Your sense of humor brought us to laughter often. Your words of wisdom gave us a direction for our thinking to grow. We are left with many great memories. We all believe that we will see you again soon. Where we will never be parted again.
Love, Sallye

One memory that has stuck so vividly with me throughout the years was the one when I was young, about ten years old. On Grandma and Grandpa Lambert's front porch just outside of Hunter, Missouri. I asked Uncle Bill and Aunt Doris if they would sing for me, and so to my delight they did. I enjoyed it so much, but the one song that stands out in my memory is when Aunt Doris sang Gale Garnett's song "We'll Sing in the Sunshine", and Uncle Bill played the guitar. She sang it so pretty it made me cry. That was around a half a century ago and I've never forgotten it, and remember it from time to time after all these years. Tears of memory to last a lifetime. Thank You both!
May you Rest In Peace, Uncle Bill 1991, Aunt Doris 2010

It was so wonderful to get to see Aunt Doris at last years Lambert Family reunion! Kevin hadn't seen her since 1975, and it was my first time to meet her. We were so glad to get to spend time with her. She will be missed!!

I met Mrs. Martin the first visit I made to Rhee's home. We immediately connected and were kindred spirits. Even though I only saw her a few times she always remembered me. Her light will continue to shine in my life and in the lives of her family! Peace....P.S. love the cake story!

I remember one time she was fixing a rocky road choclate cake for one of the family reunions, she put the marshmollows on the cake, than put it in the oven to melt the marshmollows and they caught on fire.We laughed so hard that day, cause she took it out of the oven and just scrape the burned stuff off and took it to the family reunion that way, nobody new the differance.
It was ate up that day,she told me that she was going to have to do that more often.
