Obituary of Roy Van Brindley
Van Brindley, age 87, died the morning of Saturday, June 22, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife, Nannie Sue Brindley, four sons and two daughters; Roy Van Brindley, Jr., William Michael Brindley, Bradford Leon Brindley, and Jimmy David Brindley, Regina Carol Bowman, and the late Christi Darlene Brindley; sister: Martha Francis Booker; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was born on May 24, 1926 in Morgan County, Alabama to the late Leonidas Polk and Zuma Ward Brindley. Also preceding him in death are brothers Ellis Howard Brindley and Thomas Bradford Brindley, and sisters Helen Cossey, Lucille Edwards, LaVon Lewis, and Alva Culberson. Mr. Brindley served in the United States Navy, Seaman Second Class, during WWII where he received many honors and medals. He owned and operated several businesses, was a realtor for Brindley Realty Company, worked for L&N Railroad, several bakeries, and also worked at the Davidson County Sheriff's Department. He is greatly loved and we will miss him very much. The Memorial Service, conducted by Gwyneth Ford, is 1 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Sellars Funeral Home (313 W. Baddour Pkwy, Lebanon TN). Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the service on Saturday.
