Obituary of Odis Ray Warren
Odis Ray, Sr., born June 20, 1935 in Jackson County TN to the late Newton and Mary Coffee Warren. The Lord took him home Saturday, November 20, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Preceded in death by children Bobby Ray Warren, Ronnie and Donnie Warren; brothers Willie J. Warren, and Carlos Edward Warren; sisters: Ruby Pigg, Polly Scantland, Zelma Emmerton, and Cleo Dalton. Survived by wife of 53 years, Mary Alice Glover Warren of Carthage; children: Carolyn Warren Costen of Lebanon, Odis Ray (Lydia) Warren Jr. of Carthage, and Micheal Lee Warren of Lebanon; sisters: Johnnie Hemontolar of Lebanon and Bonnie Thompson of Donelson. His legacy in grandchildren: Kimberly Glover, Daniel Warren, Jessica and Hunter Warren, and Kristen Woodson; step-grandchildren: Ronnie and Brintty Dye; and great-grandchildren: Kayla and Kaitlyn Stephenson. Adopted children: Mary Ann (Donnie) Bain, Ann Crook Knight, Jennifer Driver Warren, Chris Berry, and Robert Locke. Adopted grandchildren proud to call him Pa: Kimmie Dawn and Arianna Knight, Emily Lough, Jenna Vaughn. Adopted great-grandchild: Ana Grace Knight. Numerous beloved nieces and nephews, brothers and sister-in-laws, and many, many friends, some who shared his love for coon hunting. His Home Healthcare friends, Bridgett Stewart and Melanie Swann. All the doctors and nurses of Tennessee Oncology, University Medical Center, and Sherry"s Run for all the help. Pallbearers: David Hemontolar, Ronnie Glover, William Glover Jr., Frankie Hall, Chris Burton, Chris Berry, Robert Locke, and Hunter Allen Warren. Honorary Pallbearers: former employees and employees of McFarland and UMC Hospital Maintenance Department with whom Odis was proud to call co-workers and friends for 21 years, Mac Stewart, Chuck Stafford, Wayne Hicks, and many others. Visitation at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon from 2-8 p.m. Monday, November 22nd and Tuesday from noon until service. The chapel service, conducted by Brother Donnie Bain, Brother Danny Sellars, Brother Todd Elliott, and granddaughter Jessica Warren, is 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Interment in Wilson County Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
