Obituary of Dorothy Mai Evans Lee

Dorothy Evans Lee passed away on November 23, 2009 at age 83. Born in England, Arkansas, she attended Tennessee College for Women where she was a member of the Wandering Minstrels and served as the president of her Sophomore Class. She also attended Cumberland University until her marriage in 1947. She was Secretary to the Dean of Admissions at Cumberland University for twenty years. She was a member of West Haven Baptist Church and former Member of First Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Fred T. Evans and Stella Evans, husband Robert Ewell Lee, and son David Allen Lee. Survivors include sons: Robert Evans (Lucy) Lee and John Mark Lee of Lebanon; grandchildren: Susan (Greg) Bennett of Ft. Myers FL, Rebecca (Scott) Walker of Lebanon, David Lee, Michael Lee, and Robert Lee, all of Lebanon; and sister: Marjorie Mann of Nacogdoches TX. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon TN, with Dr. Jonathan Richerson officiating. Interment in Wilson County Memorial Gardens will immediately follow the service. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2009 and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service begins. Pallbearers: David Lee, Michael Lee, Robert Lee, Scott Walker, Jimmy Harper, Greg Bennett, Elmer Richerson. Honorary Pallbearers: Joy Sunday School Class of West Haven Baptist Church, The Donnell Class of First Baptist Church, friends and neighbors of Summer Place Community and Attorneys and Staff of Lee and Lee Attorneys at Law. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Haven Baptist Church Building Fund.
