Maurice... you were such a mentor and friend to me for years. you taught me so much about so many things, and had fun doing it. we got back in touch after years apart, just the day before you passed... You left me in shock...without a proper goodbye, without giving me a chance to say that you are the kindest and the most loving man I ever met. You made me laugh even at the worst of my moods. We argued and fought, but you always made sure I smiled at the end of it. I never had the chance to take the bike ride with you. I will miss you deeply. Dearest Maurice, My heart is saddened to have you leave us. You have been such a dear, kind and sweet man to my daughter. Maddy has such a stubborn streak and she and I used to joke that I could lecture her less since you'd already given her an earful. I liked knowing you were taking care of her. I'm afraid she won't have the will to do a good job of it without you by her side. Rest in peace dear Maurice and know that you will be missed but my daughter carries your memory on.

Maurice loved to be a prankster. Though I was often the target of his jokes it sure was fun when we put one over on Maddy. We talked about bikes. His Triumph. The snake run. We'll miss ya buddy.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Maurice, but he was the soulmate of my friend Maddy. Never have I seen someone so selfless and caring. I wouldn't trust just anyone with her, but I knew Maurice would do anything for her. He will be missed.

We had lots of good conversations about our children, with yours and mine being nearly the same ages. It was evident you cared very deeply for Zachary and Rachel and hoped the best for them. My thoughts and prayers are for them in that they may carry on in the direction that you guided them in. Your daily greeting of "Hi neighbor" will surely be missed here at work.
