I remeber the first time I met George, Chris had me over and we had pizza.
We sit at the kitchen table and had a few words..I was full of fear...oh but for
a breif moment, his soft spoken words were so gentle.. Time passed have not seen Chris or George for a few, then I got the chance to do a little yard work, pulling the weeds from the Irish beds..again I wanted so to do
a good job...George told me what he wanted done again in the soft gentle voice.
As it was the weeds got the best of me, I could not finish the job...there was no
fear in me when I had to pick up the phone and let them know..for I remeber the soft gentle voice and the peaceful eyes of a man I barley knew..........but knew.
My prayers are with you Chris.............

Mrs. Chris, My heart is full of grief over hearing of the passing of one of my favorite faculty members on campus. I helped Dr. Buchanan through the interlibrary loan office of the Library. He was always so kind and fun to be around. He told the best stories, and some of them were of you. He always spoke such sweet and kind words of you. I will forever cherish the dulcimer he made for me about three years ago. Maybe one day, he will look down and be proud of me for actually learning to play it :) I just wanted you to know that I will be holding you up in my prayers, and how deeply blessed I was to know such a good man. God bless you through these days! Sonya Bowman

I was extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Buchanan, but feel privileged to have known him as a professor and an individual. I will never forget his sincere greetings, his advice and his love of engineering. One puzzle that he and I could never understand, let alone solve, was why someone would even consider painting a hardwood floor. My sincerest condolences to Dr. Buchanan's friends and family.
