I was introduced to Delmar in the cafeteria at the Sunday School Board one morning before work. At the time I was planning to go off to Baylor U to study Music Education and Foreign Languages. I have never forgotten the white leather Bible that he gave me before I left. It seems we dated off and on. He had a smile that you never forgot. After we broke up, there were special songs in my heart that never let me loose the memory of him and his kind and thoughtful ways.
God bless your family. May the legacy of Delmar Davenport's bring lots of people to salvation in Jesus Christ!

I had great respect for you and will never forget the things you taught me at
the BSSB.

I WORKED AT THE SUNDAY SCHOOL BOARD WITH DELMAR.FOR 16 YEARS. HE AND I GOT TO BE GOOD FRIENDS. I HAVE NOTHING BUT GOOD MEMORIES OF DELMAR. HE WAS AN HONEST,VERY CARING PERSON, WHO WOULD HELP ANYONE, IF HE COULD. I WAS A YOUNG MAN, AND THROUGH HIS STRENGTH AND STRONG BELIEFS, I AM A BETTER MAN BECAUSE HE WAS MY FRIEND. MAY GOD BLESS AND COMFORT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY DURING THIS TIME.

I remember when Delmar got me a Baptist hymnal when l was just a kid because l loved to sing the songs. We worked in the same building at the Baptist SS Board after l got old enough to work. Those were some of the best memories of my life. We got separated in life as l moved on to other places of work, but l carried him in my heart always. I loved my cousin
Delmar Robert and always will. He was named after my dad Delmar B Davenport, and my uncle Robert Davenport. I just hope he knew how much l loved him. I remember seeing him one Christmas at Aunt Myra's and Uncle Marvin's house
with his little grandchild in his arms he loved so much. He would not put her down. The last time l saw him was at a family reunion. He was so happy to see me. He had pictures of the family and was so proud to show them to me. We all had such a good time at the family reunion that year. Love you always, and you will always be in my heart Delmar Robert.
