Obituary of Bessie Mae Stone
Bessie Mae Stewart Stone age 89 went home to be with the Lord on Feb 17, 2012 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was a resident of the Sevier County Health Care Center in Sevierville, TN. She was formally from the Cross Lanes Community in Lafayette, TN where she lived most of her life until she moved to Sevierville to live with her daughter due to declining health a few years ago. She was saved at a very young age at Eulia General Baptist Church and became a member of Siloam Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a member the rest of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Zelma Stewart of the Cross Lanes Community. She was married 42 years to James Stone who preceded her in death in March 1987. Also waiting in Heaven to welcome her are 2 sisters, Donnie Fay Stewart and Mildred Woods, and 1 brother, Forrest Stewart.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Kerry Harp of Sevierville, TN, Grandchildren, Christopher and Ginger Walton and daughters, Tiffany, Ashley, and Kailey, of Lafayette, Louisiana, Jon and Missy Walton and son, Isaiah of Bybee TN, Nathan and Jessica Harp and daughter, Alyssia of Sevierville, TN, James Harp, Dewayne Harp and Tabitha Graves and daughters, Miranda, Megan, Makai, Brittany, Stacey, and Tiffany, Tabitha and David Doss and their children Crystal and Zack all of Lafayette, TN. She also has 1 sister, Ethelene Harris of StoneCrest Manor and a sister-in-law, Gertie Stewart of Lafayette, TN., and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 6:00pm from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home. Interment was conducted in the Eulia Cemetery Monday, Feb 20th at 10 a.m. Alexander Funeral Home, Directors, were in charge of arrangements.
Very special thanks to all the nurses and CNAs that have taken care of mama at Sevier County Health Care Center. They have been a wonderful group of loving and caring people.
