Obituary of Darrell Knight

Darrell Gene Knight was born on March 28, 1955 to Dovie Templeton Knight and the Late Thomas Franklin Knight. He was one of four children born to this union. Darrell married the love of his life Patricia, better known as Patty Smith on April 8, 1978 sharing thirty-four years together. She survives. They raised two daughters, Jenny and Conchita that he cherished. Darrell worked most all of his life providing for his family and those he loved. Darrell liked his job and enjoyed working with his co-workers at Nashville & Eastern Railroad as a machine operator for the last six years. He was a shade tree mechanic tinkering in his shop on his lawn equipment or whatever needed repair. Darrell was a good man and could always be found with a smile on his face, even until the very end. He spent every moment he could enjoying the company of his family and friends. Darrell's grandchildren were the light of his life. He loved four wheeling with them and having a good time. Besides his father; one daughter, Conchita Presley and one brother, Thomas Lee Knight also preceded Darrell in death. He was saved as a young fifteen year old boy and was of the Missionary Baptist Faith. Darrell passed away on Friday evening April 13, at the age of 57. Funeral Services for Darrell Knight were conducted on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 11a.m. from the chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Watson officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Landon Presley, Jordan Powell, Tyler Hix, Michael Knight, Todd Rollin, and Jeff Hix. Interment followed in the Eulia Cemetery. Darrell is survived by: Wife, Patty Knight of the Fairview Community in Macon County, TN, Daughter, Jenny (Joel) Powell of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Mother, Dovie Knight of the Fairview Community in Macon County, TN, Grandchildren, Landon Presley, Lexie Presley, Jason Presley, Martyna Ayala, Jordan Powell, Chloe Powell, and Lucas Powell, Brother, Wayne (Judy) Knight of the Fairview Community in Macon County, TN, Sister, Murlene Hix and Harold Rollin of Westmoreland, TN, Father-in-Law, Eugene Smith of Hartsville, TN, Son- in-Law, Jeremiah Presley of Westmoreland, TN, Darrell also leaves behind a host of Nieces, Nephews, & Extended Family and Friends.
