Obituary of Judy Yvonne Evans

JUDY YVONNE SHIDLER was born on September 28, 1942 in Francesville, Indiana to the late Woodrow Wilson Shidler and Edna Pearl Linback Shidler. There were seven daughters and a son born to this union. Besides her parents; one brother, Michael Shidler, and one sister, Diana Wildermuth also preceded her in death. She was married to the love of her life William Evans, better known as "Bill" on June 22, 1963, sharing forty-eight years together. They raised one son and twin daughters. Their marriage was built on companionship and a great love for each other. You always found them sharing life together, whether just sitting on the patio holding hands, at a family gathering or at social events having fun. Judy worked as a cook in restaurants for almost twenty years. After moving to Lafayette, Tennessee, she went to work at Flex Technologies, retiring in 2005. Judy had a personality that was amazing. Once you meet her, Judy captured your heart. Judy was full of joy and laughter and had such a caring heart. She always found good in everyone and spoke bad of no one. Judy had a talent when it came to sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She enjoyed sharing her work with others. Judy made the crocheted prayer shawls, which were given to families by her Church. Judy was always giving away quilts and winter shawls to family and friends. She also loved being an active member of the Lafayette Lioness Club and the Lafayette United Methodist Church. Judy loved cooking for her family and friends. Judy and Bill would often have cook-outs inviting family and friends. Their yard would be full. Being a kid at heart, Judy loved time with her grandchildren. Whether it was playing games, reading books, or watching television, she cherished every moment with them. Judy would try anything like riding tractors or four wheelers, as long as it was on flat ground. She enjoyed traveling and going camping with the family for the weekend. Judy passed away on Tuesday morning, April 24, 2012 at the age of 69, after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services for Judy Yvonne Evans were conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home with Pastor Nolan Brunson officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were, Don Cherry, Travis Cherry, Joseph Martin, Bennie Hudgens, Joe Bargie, and Mike Woods. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens.
