Obituary of Mary Doss

Mary Higdon Doss was born in Macon County, on November 10, 1928 to the late Joseph Andrew Higdon and Lonie Bell Andrews. She was one of five siblings born to this union. As a young lady, Mary was married to Jesse Williard Doss on March 20, 1947. They shared forty-five years together and raised one son. Jesse preceded her in death on August 7, 1992. Besides her parents and beloved husband, son, Jesse Gale Doss, sister, Violet Ford, and two infant brothers also preceded Mary in death. Mary worked at Form-fit Rogers for five years and later went to work for Carter Automotive as an assembly line worker for 21 years. She retired when the plant closed. In her spare time Mary enjoyed needle work, especially crocheting. Everyone that knew Mary dearly loved her. She was such a loving person with a gracious heart. On Saturday, October 20, 2012, Mary passed away. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services for Mary were conducted, Monday, October 22, 2012, at 3 pm from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder J.E. Shoulders officiating. Serving as pallbearers were; Terry Reid, Kerry Reid, Michael Veatch, Tommy Napier, H.N. Reid, Bobby Brooks, and Tim Carter. Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park. Mary Doss is survived by, Sister, Ruby (Arnie) Guinn of Lafayette, TN, Nieces, Jean Brooks, Charlotte Dawes, Carolyn Napier, and Sue Reid all of Lafayette, TN.
