Obituary of Jackie Earl Barber

Jackie Earl Barber was born in Macon County, Tennessee on January 28, 1938 to the late Earless Atlas Barber and Delia Susan Holland Barber. He was one of four brothers born to this union. Besides Jackie's parents; son, Ricky Earl Barber, and brothers, Ed Barber, and Glenn Barber also preceded him in death. On August 24, 1956, Jackie married the love of his life, the former Emma Molene Johnson. They shared fifty-six years together and raised three sons and one daughter. Jackie worked for General Electric for fourteen years and later went to Lafayette Manufacturing working there until he retired, in 1978. Jackie enjoyed the outdoors, and spent most of his time on the water. He liked going to Buffalo River; camping, boating and fishing. Jackie always wanted his family with him; they were his pride and joy. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren always had a good time, when grandpa was around. Sitting back and listening to Country music was something Jackie enjoyed doing. His favorites were George Jones, Merle Haggard, and Conway Twitty. Jackie attended Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church. On Saturday, March 16, 2013, the Lord called Jackie home. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services for Jackie were conducted Tuesday, March 19, at 2 pm from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Joey Green officiating. Interment followed in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Jackie is survived by, Wife, Emma Molene Barber of Lafayette, TN, Sons, David W. (Lindy) Barber of Belvadere, and Joe (Tami) Barber of Lafayette TN, Daughter, Jane Barber of Lafayette, TN, Brother, Carl (Polly) Barber, Ten Grandchildren, and Five Great-Grandchildren, also survive.
