Donald Woodcock

Obituary of Donald R. Woodcock

Donald Ray Woodcock, Sr. was born on August 30, 1941 to the late Eutra King Woodcock and Tina Mae Howard Woodcock. He was one of five siblings. He was first married to Alma Jean Purcell and shared three sons, Donald Ray, Timothy, and Kenny. Later Donald married the former Ruth Marie Woodcock, gaining two step-sons, Greg and Ray, and having one more son Chris. Ruth passed away January 24, 2005. Besides Donald's wife and parents; sister, Vinolla Bell Sewell, Brother, Hollis Woodcock, Brothers-in-law, Charles Sewell and Glenn Dycus also preceded him in death. Donald truly loved his family. All six boys where sons to him, and he made no difference in them. His grandchildren were Donald's pride and joy. He worked hard to start a business from scratch, never lagging behind and working long hours. Donald owned and operated "Complete Termite Company" for almost fifty years. He valued his customers and enjoyed the time spent talking and getting to know them. As the company grew it served more areas including, Macon, Carthage, Murfreesboro, Gallatin, Mt. Juliet, and Lebanon. Even though the company took up a lot of his time, Donald always made time to work on his farm. Raising tobacco and cutting hay were a couple of things he enjoyed doing. Donald loved doing anything that put him on the seat of his tractor; that is what he truly loved. He was a member of Lafayette Church of Christ. On November 1, 2013, at the age of 72, the Lord called Donald home. He is now resting from his many years of labor and basking in the wonders of Heaven. Funeral services for Donald Woodcock will be conducted Tuesday at 1 pm from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home in Lafayette, Tennessee with Terry Fessler officiating.
