Obituary of Michael Lynn Raney
Michael Lynn Raney was born on June 10, 1961 to Shelby Joyce Nichols Raney and the late J. D. Raney. He was one of five siblings.
Besides his father; sister, Darlene Scott, brother, Maury Raney, grandfather, Ray Nichols, grandparents, Millard and Retta Raney also preceded Michael in death.
Michael joined the United States Army at the age of eighteen. He was station in the North Parallel in Korea, known as the Hostile Territory.
After Michael returned home in 1981, he started doing trim work in the Construction business.
As a young man, Michael hunted and went camping. What made him happiest though was spending his days fishing, whether out on a boat or sitting on the creek bank.
At the age of eleven, Michael was saved outside, in the yard, of Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church.
On November 17, 2013, at the age of 52, the Lord called Michael to his new home.
He is in no more pain and Michael is happy now. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but our loss is Heaven's Gain.
Funeral services for Michael Raney were conducted Wednesday at 1 pm from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder J. B. Shoulders officiating. Robin Raney, Perry Kemp, Daniel Raney, Rick Raney, David Ray, and Mark Underwood served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens.
Michael is survived by; Mother, Shelby Raney of Lafayette, TN, Brothers, Anthony Raney of Lafayette, TN, and Ricky Raney of Lebanon, TN, and Grandmother, Ruby Nichols of Lafayette, TN.
