Obituary of Charles Edward Wakefield

Charles Edward Wakefield was born on December 3, 1931 to the late Felton Wakefield and Minnie Swindle Wakefield. He was one of nine siblings born to this union. He was married on December 27, 1956 to Neelie Mai Harp. Together they shared fifty-six wonderful years together, and raised two children. Besides his parents; brother, James Wakefield, sisters, Katherine Wakefield, Anna Dean Wakefield, Ethel Givens, Sue Richards, and nephew Jerry Wakefield also preceded Charles in death. Charles was a farmer his entire life, and loved working on the land. As a young man Charles loved hunting and fishing. In his later years he enjoyed mowing, and took pride in caring for his yard. He also loved spending time with his grand-children. Charles was a member at Union Missionary Baptist Church On Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at the age of 81, the Lord called Charles home. He is now reaping his rewards and seeing the beauties of Heaven. Charles will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but our loss is Heaven's Gain. Funeral Services were conducted Friday at 1 pm from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Michael Horton officiating. Interment followed in the Wakefield Cemetery. Charles is survived by; Wife, Neelie Wakefield of New Harmony Community in Macon County, TN, Son, Jackie (Glenda)Wakefield of Lafayette, TN, Daughter, Deborah (Danny) Bartley of New Harmony Community in Macon County, TN, Grandkids, Daniel (Jessica) Bartley of Lafayette, TN, Christy (John) Madden of New Harmony Community in Macon County, TN, Tammy (William) Britt of Scottsville, KY, Terry (Tammy) Wakefield, Kim(Michael) Horton all of Lafayette, TN, Sisters, Faye (Billy) Perrigo, Peggy (Carl) Blankenship all of Lafayette, TN, Robbie (Milton) Stinson of Indianapolis, IN, Brother-in-law, Billy Joe Richards of Franklin, KY and 12 Great-grandchildren also survive.
