Obituary of Raymond L. Tuck

RAYMOND L. TUCK - age 85, of Lafayette, TN, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services for Raymond L. Tuck were conducted Friday, July 22 at 1 p.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Tom Carter and Brother Jerry Gammon officiating. Anthonty Tuck, Michael Tuck, Dustin Tuck, Nathan Righthouse, Ray Tuck, and Greg Tuck served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Liberty Cemetery. Raymond was born on August 18, 1925 to Lonie E. Tuck and Fannie Snider Tuck. He was married for thirty-two years to his childhood sweetheart, Velva Nash Tuck. They were married in 1944 and raised two sons and a daughter; Velva preceded him in death on June 28, 1976. Raymond later married Hazel Cook sharing thirty years together; she recently passed away on June 11 of this year. Raymond was well known in the area for moving buildings. He transported houses, barns, and businesses, all over the surrounding counties. Raymond and his boys also enjoyed farming part-time. He raised a big garden every year and loved sharing with his family and friends. Back in his younger years, Raymond enjoyed playing music with his sons, Wayne and Roger. He also liked to spend his day, rabbit hunting. People enjoyed being around Raymond; he had a fun personality. Raymond loved being with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was saved in 1946 and was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him. Raymond is survived by; Sons, Wayne (Kathy) Tuck of Clay County, TN and Roger (Shirley) Tuck of Lafayette, TN, Daughter, Helen (John) Righthouse of Murfreesboro, TN, Step-sons, Ronnie (Diane) Cook and Audie (Cheryl) Cook all of Lafayette, TN, Grandchildren, Anthony Tuck, Michael Tuck, Greg Tuck, Ray Tuck, Dustin Tuck, Nathan Righthouse, and Heather Hearnsberger, and Fourteen great-grandchildren.
