Obituary of Charles Thomas Isham, Sr.

Charles Thomas Isham, Sr., age 79 of Gallatin, passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 surrounded by family.  Funeral Service will be Monday, September 18th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Ave), with Minister Charles Baugh officiating.   Entombment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with Shawn Gregory, Garrett Taylor, Jeff Porter, Ryan Moore, Ben Haynes, Jr., and John Flippin, Jr. serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be Sunday, September 17th from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. and Monday, September 18th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Isham was born June 29, 1938 in Sumner County to the late Alpheus Woodrow Isham and Dorothy Simmons Isham.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by son, Charles T. “Tommy” Isham, Jr.  He is survived by wife of 58 years, Sue Carol Robinson Isham; daughter, Debbie Wilson (Jon) of Gallatin; 6 grandchildren, Tonya Taylor (Brian), Shawn Gregory (Tabitha), Andrea Isham (Stevie), Heather Liles, Jeremy Wilson, and Annalea Wilson; and 7 great grandchildren, Shelby Taylor, Garrett Taylor, Malia Liles, Alara Liles, Tessa Gregory, Taryn Gregory,  and Trista Gregory.  Charles served his country as an Interior Communications Electrician, Petty Officer 2nd Class in the United States Navy on the USS Chara.  He owned H & R Block in Gallatin, Portland, Westmoreland, and Hartsville for 41 years.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
