William E. “Gene” Ashburn, age 79 of Gallatin, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019. At his request, there will be no service. Mr. Ashburn was born March 19, 1940 in Nashville to the late Herbert Ashburn and Mary Elizabeth Neely Ashburn. He is survived by wife of 54 years, Barbara Flippen Ashburn of Gallatin; daughter, Amy Jones (Jeremy) of Gallatin; brother, Thomas Hugh Ashburn of Ashland City; sister, Myrtle Faye Yant of Joelton; 1 grandchild, Rachel McFerren (Jamey); and 1 great grandchild, Caroline.
