Obituary of Tommie Allen West

Tommie Allen West, age 73 of Gallatin, passed away on Monday, July 29th, 2019. Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, August 1st, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in Sumner Memorial Gardens with Tad Phillips, Mickey Dorris, Brian Harper, Dewayne Daughtry, David Skimehorn, Joe Carter, Scott Miles, and Daniel Shooks serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31st from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, August 1st from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m.

 

Mr. West was born on November 17th, 1945 in Smith County, Tennessee, to the late Fred Wilson and Faye Dell Franklin West. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Carolyn Lee “Trixie” West; brother, Gary Stephen West; and sister, Martha Gayle Hester. He is survived by son, Troy West of Gallatin; daughter, Ashley (Dell Inman) West of Gallatin; grandchildren, Sidney Kayle West and Caden Lee West; brothers, Paul (Janice Diane) West of Cottontown, Harold Wilson (Pam) West of Westmoreland, and Richard Neil West of Westmoreland; and sister – in – law, Shirley Ann (Billy) Crook of Gallatin.

 

Tommie was the proud owner of A+W Backhoe, the Smoke House Restaurant in Gallatin, San’s Restaurant on 109, and Ashley+Trixie’s Restaurant in Gallatin. He was a faithful member of Dry Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Bethpage. Tommie was a member of the American Legion, the Elk’s Lodge in Gallatin, and served as the President for both the Gallatin Saddle Club and the Douglas Lane Saddle Club.
