Obituary of Finis Bowman

Finis Monroe Bowman, of Nashville, TN, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at age 91. Finis was a very involved member of Donelson Fellowship Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was an outstanding father and grandfather. Aside from traveling with his family, he loved fishing and camping. Finis was also an avid card player. He especially enjoyed card games with his brothers.

Mr. Bowman was born on May 29, 1928 in Cookeville, TN to the late, Causby Bowman and Addie Sherrill Bowman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Charlie Mai Maxwell Bowman; son, Randall Bowman; brothers, James Bowman, Jerry Bowman, and David Bowman; sisters, Geraldine Bowman Lollar, Jewell Bowman Maddux, and Mattie Bauman Stewart. He is survived by children, Debbie (Skip) Morris, Donna Bowman Baumgartner; daughter-in-law, Denise Barber Bowman; brother, Truman Bowman; grandchildren, Matt (Carmen) Morris, Nate Morris, Bethany (Mike) Strippoli, Emilee (Tyler) Miller, and Logan (Cierra) Bowman; great-grand-children, Max Morgan, Emerson Morgan, Addison Morgan, Mikan Strippoli, Cohen Miller, Jude Miller, Harper Morris, Hudson Morris, Carthage Morris, Maverick Morris, and Marshall Bowman.

The Funeral Service, conducted by Mr. Bowman’s grandson, Matt Morris, will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Donelson Fellowship Church at 3210 McGavock Pike in Nashville, TN. Interment will follow the service at West Cemetery at John West Road in Cookeville TN. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm and on Monday, September 23, 2019 from 10:00am until service time at 11:00 am.
