Happy Birthday Daddy. I miss you so much still. I cry quite often thinking of you. I would give anything to be able to talk to or see you one more time. I love you so much and always will.
Rest In Peace Mr. Maloney. I didn't know you in life but heard many stories growing up from my father Vincent Murphy about you and his friendship with your son Rich, he remembered you fondly and called you a "tough Irishman". My condolences to you and your family.
I can't believe it's been a year and 4 days since you left this world. You are still missed as much as the day you left us.
I still see things I think would be a perfect gift for you and go to call you, But, then I remember you're not going to be able to answer the phone.
I still hear my phone ring and expect to hear "Hey kiddo". But, I'll never hear that again.
It hurts so bad, still. I still say good night to your ashes and kiss the urn your ashes are in,
I never thought I would have so little time with you. All I have now is memories. It's not enough. I, actually, miss all your old stories that I heard a million times. Watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune with you. Sneaking in airplane bottles of Jack Daniels when Aunt Winnie was home so you could still drink and she wouldn't know. So many memories flood in every time I think about you.
I miss you so much. I know you're on the other side, no longer in pain, with all your brothers and sisters, and grandkids, and your nephews. I, also, know you're watching over all of us that are still in this world.
In your words, "I love you, but more import, I like you." and "See ya in church or in a Buddhist temple". I'll see you again on the other side.
To my cousins and their families, I am so sorry for the loss of your dear father, my Uncle Richie. He was the last man standing in the long line of the South Bronx Maloneys. His parents were born in the 1890s, lived through tough times to raise five brothers and two sisters who stuck together as a proud and strong family. We were blessed to be able to spend time together during family visits as each Maloney married and raised beautiful families of their own. Uncle Richie was always making us laugh, always sharing his love of family. My heart goes out to his own family of seven and his many grandchildren and great grands who loved him. God bless the Maloney clan.
Love,
Cousin Sue
