Obituary of Emily Bengtson

Emily Lynn Bengtson, 22, of North Hollywood, California died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, Jan. 20. Born in Alexandria, Virginia she was raised in the Nashville area and graduated with honors from Wilson Central High School in 2016. Emily moved to Los Angeles two years ago to pursue her dream of performing in the world of hip-hop/ contemporary dance. She was known for her work ethic, passion and determination in the dance industry and had landed a gig on a TV show just before the pandemic closed down the studios. Putting her artistic pursuit on hold she served as an essential worker throughout the pandemic, both at Trader Joe’s and Amazon. Preceded in death by adoring grandparents, she is survived by her parents, Carl and Karen Bengtson of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, brothers, Robert and Michael, godparents, Charles and Cathy Blake, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a number of great friends and co-workers in Tennessee and California, all of whom are devastated by this sudden and unexpected loss. Family and friends are invited to gather and remember this special, beautiful, intelligent, caring, creative and above-all, strong young woman. Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 20th at 6 pm at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Pastor Leslie Traylor officiating.
