RJ hired me on a frigid evening on March 23, 1998 – and I am grateful to still be with the company today.
Despite the pressure he received from management (must start right away!) he respected that I was unwilling to leave my previous job without reasonable notice, and gave me the time I needed.
He gave me the space to learn something that did not come easily to me, and gave me the motivation to achieve when it was time to do so.
He always treated me with respect.
I didn’t know him well, or for long, but I am grateful that I did know him at all.
Godspeed RJ, and peace be with you and your family.
I worked with RJ for 8 years, he is a great person! We always had something to talk about, RJ was so proud of his family! We shared a love for flower gardens and lawn care, he always knew something about any subject I would talk about... I always looked up to RJ and respected him. He will be missed
I first meet RJ in 2006, we were both hired at MTA around the same time. We became friends immediately. We never did do a whole lot outside of work, other a couple rounds of golf, but he became my of my best friends at work. Our work ethics were the same, hard working, getting along with everyone, that is why we got along so well. I really enjoyed working with RJ in the parts room. That is where I learned about Val, Josh, Kim and the rest of his family. One thing I can tell you is ,he loved them with all his heart. RJ talked about them all the time. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. I sure will miss seeing and working with you every day. I still can’t believe that you are no longer with us. You were one of the smartest and friendliest persons that I knew. Ellen and I will miss you, may you Rest In Peace my Friend, Paul
We are so sorry to hear about RJ. I worked with him at MTA for several years and enjoyed working with him.
I considered him a good friend. We shared a love for hummingbirds and enjoyed comparing notes about them.
He had a love for his family and talked often about you.
We will be thinking and praying for you during this very hard time.
