RJ and I grew up together at NVR, he worked knee wall and wall stand up, I was next to him in the interior department. We became friends, we became crew leaders, we became supervisors. He worked nights I worked days. We shared the same desk. His area was larger on nights. We would leave long notes for each other on that day or nights events, He brought in cassette player, and we would leave message for each other on cassette tape he was side A I was side B, this is before voice mail and email. He was a smart guy! We would get excited when we could see each other at a company function, golf outings, Crew Leader dinner meetings. We would get all caught up on life, He would tell me stores about Val, Jimmy and Josh. He was proud of his family, we both loved being a Dad and playing with our kids .I lost touch with him when he took a position in Nashville ( no email back then) we called each other a few times, He was telling me all about his new promotion, I was so happy for him, I was proud of him. He was so excited. I saw him briefly at Thurmont plant years later, He was walking and talking to someone outside, I could see him from in the trim department, I wanted to talk to him but did not want to bother him. I truly regret that, I could have just yelled out hey, How are ya. I'm sorry about that RJ,I considered you a good friend and NVR brought us together. I feel sad writing, its making me cry. Hey RJ, I love ya man! I will see you on the other side my friend John Grunza
