Obituary of Robert "Bob" Cochran
Mr. Robert “Bob” Cochran, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2023. Robert was born on November 6, 1933 in Cincinnati Ohio to the late Ancel Robert Cochran and Nellie Elizabeth Dearth Cochran. He was raised in Atlanta, Georgia.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kerry Scott Cochran; mother of his children, Nadine Walker Cochran; brother, Claude H. Cochran.
He is survived by his son, Alan (Emily) Cochran; daughter, Renee (Scott) Cochran Spicer; grandchildren, Will (Kristin) Butler, Kaci (Tyler) Dunham, Shay Williamson, and Craig (Candace) Cochran; great-grandchildren, Alexis Burton, Ashton Burton, Kennedi Dunham, Tamber Dunham, Elliott Butler, and Brynley Cochran; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Bob never met a stranger. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and brought an abundance of laughs and smiles to all of those he surrounded. He was a giver and loved to give " goody bags" to everyone. He enjoyed country and western dancing. Being raised in Atlanta, he loved the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs. He was a member of Christ First in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. Bob was a partner at Cochran Prather in Memphis, Tennessee for many years. Years after his initial retirement, Bob started Robert E. Cochran and Associates doing dealer trade driving. He enjoyed driving and traveling for numerous dealerships. Finally, after his retirement he enjoyed spending even more time with his family and friends. He will be missed dearly for his love, humor, and wit.
Please join us as we honor and reflect on a life well-lived and loved-well on Saturday, July 1st at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Portland with Pastor Phil Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Old Brush Cemetery with Will Butler, Tyler Dunham, Ashton Burton, Sammy Branum, Eric Schuh, Eli Schuh, and Ish Saddler serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, July 1st from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM.
