Sterling and I worked at Vol State teaching math, and for several years our classes were side-by side at the Wilson Central site. He was a cordial co-worker and knowledgeable in his subject. Later his daughter and I worked in the math lab together. My deepest sympathy to the family as you bear your loss. I will be praying for you.

I spent many years with Sterling at Mt. Juliet Jr High. He was a gracious man and took his work with students very serious. I lost contact with him the past few years and I'm sorry to hear of his passing. All I can say is that God must have needed a great Math teacher. My prayers are with the family.

Mr. Seat was one amazing teacher. Although he intimidated many, banging his leg long paddle against himself as he walked the halls, he loved and cared for each one of us. He wanted us to learn not only math, but respect for authority, our peers, but more so ourselves. Once you showed him you had respect for those people and things, he showed you another side of himself and could act like a teddy bear. He had empathy for us, he cared beyond our academics, he wanted us to succeed and excel in everything in life. He will surely be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
