Obituary of Walter Earl Ramsey

Earl Ramsey passed away August 24, 2011 at age 79. Mr. Ramsey served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. The Sullivans in the Korean War. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon on Friday from 2-8 pm. and from 11 a.m. until the service on Saturday. The chapel service, conducted by Brother John Petree and Sister Linda Barnes, is 1 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011. Interment in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Jon Ayers, Bryan Graves, Danny Meadows, Harold Ayers, Dan Shaw, Larry Bay, Phillip Bay, and Danny Ligon. Honorary Pallbearers: Hunter Barbour, Corey Meadows, and Caleb Meadows. Special thanks to the Pavilion. Memorial Donations: American Cancer Society (2000 Charlotte Ave, Nashville TN 37203, 615.327.0991). Survivors include wife of 49 years, Morine Scott Ramsey; children: Tommy (Lynne) Bowen, Carol Meadows, and Larry (Lorie) Blackburn; son-in-law: Harold Ayers; sisters: Lois Kerbo , Frances (Doris) Ligon; grandchildren: Dana (Gary) Mason, Melissa (Danny) Meadows, Shelley (Dan) Shaw, Jerry (Mary) Wallace, Angie (Bryan) Graves, Jon (Amy) Ayers, Kelsey Blackburn, and Katie Blackburn; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by daughter Brenda Ayers, great-granddaughter Cassie Meadows, parents P.W. Ramsey and Dora Dillard Ramsey, sister Vera Bay, and brothers Elbert, Alfred, and Kenneth Ramsey.
